Google DeepMind has announced "Science Skills", a new set of scientific capabilities integrated into Google Antigravity, aimed at optimizing researchers' workflows through AI.
Toolkit details
According to the announcement from Google DeepMind, Science Skills allows the AI to access and analyze in-depth data from over 30 of the world's leading life science sources. Among these are crucial databases like UniProt (protein data) and the AlphaFold Database (a milestone in AI-powered protein structure prediction). Google's goal is to provide the AI with a "true scientific toolkit" to solve complex daily research problems.
Why it matters
Integrating specialized scientific datasets into AI agents like Antigravity marks a shift from general-purpose AI to specialized AI in basic research. For Vietnamese scientists, the ability to quickly query the AlphaFold Database or UniProt using natural language can significantly reduce the time spent screening and processing raw data, opening up opportunities for deeper AI applications in biotechnology and medicine.
