Singapore-based AI video generation startup PixVerse has officially closed its Series C extension round, raising a total of $439 million. This massive funding tranche has propelled the company's valuation past the $2 billion mark, allowing it to strengthen its position in the world model market and expand its customer reach globally.
Diễn biến chi tiết
This funding follow-up succeeds the initial Series C round closed in March, which was led by CDH Investments with an estimated value of around $300 million. In this extension, PixVerse attracted a host of major investors including Alibaba, Lollapalooza Capital, Ivy Capital, Grand Mount Capital, Eastern Bell Capital, Mirae Asset, BlueFocus, and CloudAlpha. Founded in 2023 by Wang Changhu (former computer vision expert at ByteDance) and Jaden Xie (former executive director at Lighthouse Capital), the startup currently employs 150 people across offices in Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai.
Phân tích kỹ thuật & Công nghệ
PixVerse currently offers a diverse product portfolio, including the V-Series for consumer and API use, the C-Series optimized for professional filmmaking and commercial workflows, and the R-Series focused on building world models for game development. The startup's tools allow users to generate videos in up to 4K resolution with baked-in audio. According to the co-founders, PixVerse's core technical strength lies not in raw data, but in its highly precise data labeling technology. This capability is inherited from experience in building the core visual understanding system behind TikTok's recommendation algorithm.
Ý kiến chuyên gia & Nhận định
PixVerse's leadership expressed strong confidence in their competitive edge, noting that the high-quality AI video generation market is currently a playground for only a few companies. Jaden Xie pointed out that OpenAI exited the business by shutting down Sora 2, while giants like Meta and Tencent have yet to produce video models that meet high quality standards. Nonetheless, analysts suggest that PixVerse still faces fierce competition in an increasingly crowded market featuring heavyweight rivals such as ByteDance's Seedance, Video Rebirth from Tencent's former AI head, Kling AI, as well as Western players like Runway, Luma, and Midjourney.
Tác động & Tương lai
With the fresh capital, PixVerse plans to ramp up hiring for researchers and go-to-market roles. The company has also secured a strategic partnership with investor Alibaba to deploy its video generation features within Alibaba's ecosystem. Moving forward, PixVerse plans to launch an upgraded V-Series model and a new version of its R-Series world model, promising to deliver more powerful creative tools for the filmmaking and game development communities in Asia and worldwide.
