MLX is an open-source machine learning framework engineered by Apple's research team and optimized specifically for Apple Silicon processors. The oMLX project built by Jun Kim serves as an extension and runtime bridge, enabling developers to more seamlessly deploy, fine-tune, and run large language models locally on Mac systems.
Strengthening Local Inference
According to the announcement on the Hugging Face Blog, Kim's new role will focus on supporting the MLX community and improving interoperability between the Hugging Face model repository and the MLX framework.
